    Paritala Ravindra was one of the greatest leaders of Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh. He started as a radical communist (Naxalite) in the foot steps of his father and later entered electoral politics by joining Telugu Desam party. He was elected four times as Member of Legislative assembly to the state of Andhra Pradesh from Penukonda constituency in Anantapur district. He was slain by his political rivals in 2005. He was one of the most controversial people in the history of Andhra Pradesh politics. Paritala Ravindra evokes strong emotions among people of Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, in particular. To some, he was a messaiah of the Landless and the Downtrodden who continued his father's (Sri Ramlulu) legacy. To others, he was a ruthless naxalite. His death is said to have happened by either Surendra, his altime enemy maddela cheruvu suryamnarayana reddy and Y.S.Jaganmohan reddy , J.C.Diwaker reddy.
